Neither UV-hardened Acrylic finish nor the multi layered oil treatment (Silky) provides any kind of substrata for bacteria or mites that cause allergies. UV-hardened Acrylic finish and oiled finish also seal the surface of the wood preventing the dust from spreading into ambient air.

On the other hand UV-hardened Acrylic finish or wood oil finish are free from any emissions thus not forming a risk for predisposition. Due to very low emissions Karelia hardwood floorings are very clean and hygienic and are ideally suited for people suffering from asthma and allergies.
