Especially in coniferous trees and exotic wood species, such as Merbau, Jatoba and Doussie, the wood's natural resin secretion may occur. It can not penetrate the hardwood floor's wear layer but may cause colour changes in the floor's surface. In exotic wood species the resin may penetrate the surface after installation. In Merbau, Jatoba and Doussie, the resin appears as yellow stripes. Such a phenomena is perfectly natural to certain wood species and for its part testifies that a hardwood floor is a non-synthetic, genuine natural material.
