The Janka scale indicates the comparative hardness of different wood species. As a rule the higher the Janka-hardness, the better the floor's ability to withstand impacts, indentations and wear.

Please note that none of the above mentioned wood species are able to bear excessively heavy point loads without damage, such as the concentrated load of furniture feet without protective felt pads. On the other hand, it is natural for wood flooring to have small dents and marks as part of its aging in the course of time.
