White Oak lends itself beautifully to any decorative style from genuine opulence to rustic warmth. The timber is yellowish brown in colour. Sapwood is lighter in colour than heartwood. The timber is coarse textured and grains are clearly visible on the sawn or planed timber. Broad rays produce a silvery grain figure on planed surfaces.
Dozens of White Oak species are available worldwide, but few of them are utilized on an industrial scale. European White Oak (Quercus Robur) is used for Karelia hardwood flooring. White Oak grows in Central and Eastern Europe, where it grows to a height of 59-98 ft with a trunk diameter of 3.9 - 5.9 ft. White Oak frequently forms large diameter branches.
